ICGEB receives a grant of USD 3 million from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to help support the development of effective safety and regulatory systems for biotechnology in Africa. The ICGEB, working primarily out of its new Cape Town facility, will create regional focal points on biosafety, organize practical workshops, offer fellowships and provide funds to encourage participation in regional and international conferences, developing and fostering links with the international scientific community. |
