The ICGEB started to organise its Leishmania Course back in 2002, aiming at providing an opportunity for young scientists especially from least developed countries in endemic areas for advanced training on the related topics by leading scientists in the field, as well as to establish collaborations with fellow researchers.

Since then, the course has regularly been held every scond year at the ICGEB Headquarters in Trieste, witnessing an increasing participation from an ever wider geographical reagion that in the last edition included participants from Tunisia, Algeria, Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Turkey, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Kenya, Nigeria, Jordan, Syria, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, UK, Bulgaria, Serbia, Portugal, France as well as Italy and the ICGEB laboratories.

  • A limited number of grants, covering accommodation (twin share) and local hospitality for the duration of the course, are available to a selected number of nationals of ICGEB Member States.
The available grants will be allocated in order of priority, according to the ranking achieved in the selection process.
