Delegation from Slovakia visits Trieste to increase collaboration
A delegation, headed by Prof. Ing. Roman Boča, Rector, University of SS Cyril and Metodius, Trnava, met with ICGEB Management and Group Leaders in Trieste this week, to strengthen collaboration with Slovakia.
While the country enjoys a strong, long-term partnership with the ICGEB, it is seeking to increase joint projects and provide more opportunities to the University's 13,000 strong student body, to gain international exposure.
In particular, the University wishes to assist students in the pursuit of studies across disciplines, including photonics and viral research. This vision is well aligned with ICGEB's mission to train fellows in its laboratories and across Member States, in research topics covering the entire spectrum of Life Sciences. In addition, ICGEB's Return Grant programme providing seed money for skilled fellows returning to their home country, will be further explored. The Slovak Republic has been a full member state of the ICGEB since 1998.
