International Review Panel at ICGEB New Delhi
Inder Verma of The Salk Institute, Laboratory of Genetics, La Jolla CA, Roger Beachy, Founding Director of the World Food Center, University of California, Davis CA and Founding President of the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, St. Louis MO, and Mariano Garcia-Blanco, University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston TX and Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore, were at the ICGEB Component in New Delhi last week to meet with Group Leaders and PI's for a review of the scientific programme. Mauro Giacca, ICGEB Director-General was also present.
The Panel worked directly at the ICGEB New Delhi Campus, which comprises an area of approx. 16 acres and is situated alongside the Jawaharlal Nehru University, the National Institute of Immunology and the National Institute of Plant Genome Research. The visit provided an opportunity to meet with researchers, staff and the entire student body as well as tour the ample facilities of the Component, which was established in 1987 and is among the top scientific institutes in India.
