New "Polo Científico" inaugurated in Buenos Aires
ICGEB Director General joined the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, at the official ceremony on 6 October 2011
A new ICGEB lab forms part of the partner institute at the newly inaugurated "Polo Cientifico" research campus, the Institute of Biomedical Research.
The Research campus labs will be run in cooperation with Argentina's Council for Scientific and Technological Research (CONICET), and house an ICGEB lab, as well as labs opened by the Max Planck Society.
The official ceremony was attended in Buenos Aires last week, with around 2,000 guests. Also present was the President of the Max Planck Society, Peter Gruss.
Dr. Oscar Burrone, Group Leader, ICGEB Molecular Immunology (pictured centre, with Prof. Francisco Baralle, left) was recipient of the Roots Prize.
