ICGEB New Delhi: NIH Joint Grant Awarded
NIH has awarded a joint grant to ICGEB and the Emory Vaccine Center in New Delhi, India.
The International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB), New Delhi, together with The Emory Vaccine Center (EVC), New Delhi, India, have been awarded a grant from the National Institutes of Health to develop vaccines against HIV subtype C - the predominant HIV virus strain circulating in India, responsible for more than 50 percent of HIV infections worldwide.
The grant was awarded to the two institutions through the Indo-US Vaccine Action Program of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
