The Government of Burkina Faso has deposited its instrument of accession to the ICGEB Statutes with the Secretary-General of the United Nations in September 2014 and has become the 64th Member State of ICGEB on 30 October 2014.
At the 18th session of the Board of Governors (16-18 November 2011), the request for Membership from the Governments of Ethiopia and Montenegro were accepted, bringing the total number of ICGEB Signatory Countries to 85.
The Benefits of MembershipJoining ICGEB offers countries new opportunities to further their research activities through participation in research grant funding programmes and comprehensive training schemes.
In addition, it provides a unique intergovernmental forum where policy issues related to biosafety and technology transfer are discussed.
