Over the years, the course has traditionally aimed at providing a background in current bioinformatics tools, outreaching several hundred applicants from the ICGEB network at each call.
The current programme is focusing on genome analysis, gene expression and diagnostics, and topics will include:
- Genome and proteome databases
- Similarity searching, alignments
- Sequence phylogeny
- Next-generation sequencing data analysis using open source software
- High throughput methods, chip-sea, RNA-seq
- Genome projects, functional genomics
Participants will need to have their own laptop with an internet browser installed to access the course Google Cloud infrastructure and remote high speed computing facility for sessions and practical exercises - see technical requirements
